Overview

Artistic Endeavors is an Artistic Day Center for persons with developmental disabilities who wish to expand their creativity. Our program provides a non-structured, peaceful environment where people can experiment with the creative process. We are an alternative to traditional day programs; we are an experience. We are not a place; we are a journey!

 Role:  Art Instructor provides support to consumers while creating art with different artistic mediums such as acrylic and watercolor paints, colored pencils and markers, and pen and pencils. The art Instructor must be consumer oriented and be able to relate to all consumers and their needs with a cheerful and positive attitude while providing structure for consumers so that they can accomplish their goals and enjoy the program. Other duties may include accompanying consumers on recreational outings, framing, displaying art and other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

 Duties:

  1. Complete all training as required.
  2. Be consumer oriented and be able to relate to all consumers and their needs with a cheerful and positive attitude.
  3. Directly deliver individual and group learning experiences in various art mediums.
  4. Assists each consumer in obtaining his/her artistic goals.
  5. Keep a record of projects and progress for each consumer.
  6. Keep inventory room clean, clean up your area and up to date daily.
  7. Will maintain a professional display of art work inside building. Will aid in packing up artwork transported off premises to be sold.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director to accomplish goals of the program as related to arts and consumer’s progress.

Work hours:  8:30a.m. To 3:00p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Degree

Artistic experience required.

Experience providing service in a human field, preferably with developmentally disabled people.

One year experience, in a related or equivalent field.

Art portfolio of your past work is required to be considered for the position.
