Assessment Clerk II:
$15.12 – $18.46 Hourly / $1,209.60 – $1,476.80 Biweekly
Assessment Clerk III:
$16.72 – $20.36 Hourly / $1,337.60 – $1,628.80 Biweekly

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Assessment Clerk II:
This is the experienced-level class in the assessment clerk series that performs routine clerical and technical work under general supervision. Responsibilities include handling a variety of routine processes related to the assessment roll, reception, and office and records management work that requires previous specialized experience. This class is alternately staffed with Assessment Clerk III and incumbents may advance to the higher-level class after gaining the knowledge, skills, and experience that meet the qualifications for and demonstrating the ability to perform the work of the higher-level class.
Assessment Clerk III:
This is the journey-level class in the assessment clerk series that performs complex clerical and technical work under general supervision. Responsibilities include handling a variety of complex processes related to the assessment roll, reception, and office and records management work that requires previous specialized experience. Incumbents provide a more advanced resource for assessment roll and related analyses and studies. This class is distinguished from Senior Assessment Clerk in that the latter is responsible for technical and functional direction over lower-level personnel staff and performs the most complex duties assigned to the department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skillsand abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
All levels the Assessment Clerk series:

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.

Assessment Clerk II:

  • In addition to the above, one (1) year of experience equivalent to Assessment Clerk I at the County of Tehama.
    Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Assessment Clerk III:

  • In addition to the above, one year of experience equivalent to Assessment Clerk II at the County of Tehama.
    Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

LICENSE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a valid California driver’s license.
