Assistant Laboratory Manager to perform testing, and provide coordination, quality management, and oversight to its lab in Redding, California.
Assist in activities related to performance of laboratory testing in support of the Geotechnical and Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Laboratory. Meet agreed upon project deadlines by performing testing. Perform equipment calibrations, calculations and computations by implementing and maintaining the requirements of the Quality Management System. Work independently, using industry knowledge to solve problems of moderate scope. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership and knowledge of commercial laboratory operations.


• Perform routine and complex construction materials laboratory test procedures of soil, aggregate, concrete, masonry, and structural steel in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and Caltrans test methods.
• Perform routine and complex geotechnical laboratory test procedures of soil and rock in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO test methods.
• Perform maintenance and servicing of equipment as needed or required.
• Assist in the maintenance of laboratory accreditation through AASHTO, USACE, Caltrans, DSA, CCRL and OSHPD.
• Follows and adheres to all federal and state regulations, client requirements and contracts, and company policies and procedures including but not limited to taxes, labor laws, safety, building codes, or environmental regulations.
• Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems.
• Follows project schedules for duration of work scope.
• Minimum Certification Requirements: Can be obtained throughout initial career.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade 1
• ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
• ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
• Caltrans JTCP Soils & Aggregate
• Caltrans JTCP HMA I
• Caltrans JTCP HMA II

Experience: 3-4 years of designated professional experience and knowledge of test procedures. 1-2 years coordination/ supervisory experience preferred.

Wage Range: $25.00/hr – $30.00/hr

Note: All applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test upon hire.
