Overview

Butte County Behavioral Health Department is seeking to fill position in the following programs: Crisis, Chico Adult, Chico Stepping Stone, Chico Youth, Oroville Outpatient, Oroville Youth Paradise Outpatient, Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF), and Resiliency Empowerment Support Team (REST), Bridge Housing Program.

The eligible list established by this recruitment process may be used to fill current and future vacancies on a regular, full-time, part-time or temporary (Extra Help) basis.

1. The Behavioral Health Housing Team is seeking counselors to join our team for positions within the new Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Program. These are full-time roles, Monday through Friday, dedicated to serving the severely mentally ill unhoused population. Our dedicated team delivers comprehensive support and services both in the field and at our office, committed to expanding supportive housing opportunities for our community’s most vulnerable members.

2. Crisis Services is looking to hire multiple positions within our Mobile Response Program. Our collaborative, dynamic, and supportive team provides field and clinic based community support and services to diverse individuals in a mental health crisis. We offer a 10% differential pay and non-traditional 4-10 scheduling. Crisis Services is a 24 hour program and we a have multiple shifts available and are specifically looking to fill PM and NOC shifts. 3.  “The Butte County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is seeking Regular Help Counselor I/II to be part of our team caring for adult patients in Chico. Counselors are part of a multidisciplinary treatment team provide brief counseling, referrals, and discharge planning to patients, education and guidance to patient’s family/friends and engage in legal hearings and process’ that support patient care. An Additional 10% site differential is provided for employees within this facility.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

Level I: Equivalent to an associate degree in behavioral science, social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field; behavioral science with counseling or addiction focus is desirable; and

Two (2) years of experience providing behavioral or social services counseling, rehabilitative support or case management.

Level II: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field; and

Two (2) years of experience providing behavioral or social services counseling, rehabilitative support, case management or related experience at a level equivalent to the County’s Behavioral Health Counselor I.

Salary range: $41,100.80 – $60,840.00 Annually
