Salary: $26.77 – $32.53 Hourly | $2,141.60 – $2,602.40 Biweekly

In compliance with current regulations in the state of California, this position does NOT require employees to obtain aCOVID-19 vaccination, although it is highly recommended.

Testing Dates: April 23, 2024 – April 26, 2024. Tests will be provided via email.
Tentative Interview Dates:
1st Interview: Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
2nd Interview: Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.


The Business Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operations of a division/department business office, assuring compliance with various state and federal laws and billing requirements in order to maximize the allowable revenues for the department and to interact with outside vendors, agencies, and internal professional staff to accomplish that goal.  The scope of the responsibilities require extensive understanding of the development and administration of department systems to create and maintain department productivity standards.


  • Assigns, schedules, supervises, monitors and evaluates the work of office support personnel, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Assists with the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of services and programs.
  • Manages special programs and projects as assigned.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of the division/department budget.
  • Reviews, prepares and/or submits a variety of administrative and technical reports; compiles statistical data for reports.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding confidentiality within assigned program areas.


Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree with major coursework in Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, or a related field. Additional experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible office management or administrative/ managerial experience, working with complex programs and systems.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.


  • Requires a valid California driver’s license.

Bilingual Candidates: Must pass a Merit Systems Services written and/or oral bilingual proficiency test (or other appropriate test selected by the County) to qualify.
