Overview
JOB SUMMARY: Works in conjunction with physicians, other nursing staff, residents, families and other facility departments to provide optimum individualized nursing care. Responsible for the delivery of quality patient care for the acute patient and for the Skilled Nursing Facility patient.
Wage Rate: $39.38-$70.73/hr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/EDUCATION:
Coordinates, supervises and guides the activities of the patient care and staff for their shift according to their role for that particular day. Provides direct patient care as needed, assures that call lights are answered promptly, and that nursing care assigned to assistants is completed and documented according to facility. Provide professional daily bedside care to acute-skilled nursing patients, perform all nursing treatments, use all equipment properly and supervise and instructed other staff member in procedures and treatments whenever needed. Will administer all IV therapy as ordered by physician.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PERSONAL: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired. Must possess a current California Registered Nurse License and CPR certification. Required ACLS and PALS certification is desired. Previous experience in acute and/or geriatrics preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and physician orders. Ability to write routine reports correspondence and nurse’s notes. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
