There are two (2) part-time positions available in the classification of Shoreline RV Campground Attendant for the City of Crescent City Recreation Department. Shoreline RV Park is open 7 days per week. There is a day shift campground attendant opening and also a need for one park attendant to be on the premises for nights. This is an open recruitment. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Campground Attendant classification is a part-time, temporary position that works under the Director of Recreation in facilitating and maintaining Shoreline RV Park. This position will be expected to perform all aspects of customer service as well as the ability to perform a variety of skilled and manual tasks in routine maintenance and landscaping of Shoreline RV Park. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Customer Service: Communicates extensively with the general public, City staff, outside agencies and businesses to promote Shoreline RV Park and tourism and recreation within Del Norte County and City of Crescent City; Must have the ability to maintain good public relations and customer service skills. Including a friendly, courteous and enthusiastic attitude, excellent customer service skills at all times, both in person, email and via telephone; Registers and completes reservations for campsites using computer software designed for online reservations; Cash handling and running a cash register; Assist campers with any issues of their campsite; Assists the Recreation Director to help develop and implement policies and procedures; Maintains order and assists in promotion and adherence of City and Departmental rules, regulations and policies; Assists in the instruction of volunteers; Attend in-service training and recreation workshops; Performs a variety of reception, clerical and administrative tasks as necessitated for the RV Park and under direction of the Recreation Director; Work cooperatively with other departments, City officials and outside agencies; Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone and in writing; Perform duties and conduct yourself in a professional manner; Flexible work hours; Performs other job related duties as required.
Maintenance: Maintains over-all cleanliness of the Shoreline RV Park office, laundry room, showers and restrooms (Including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing windows, walls, fixtures, etc.); Picks up litter and debris around Shoreline RV Park and tends to housekeeping at campsites after campers check out; Empties trash, cleans wastebaskets and trash containers; Plants, waters, weeds, mows and fertilizes grass; Plants, fertilizes, cultivates, waters and sprays flowers, shrubs and other plants; Operates power mowers, weed eaters and power tools; Maintains equipment used in the course of work; Performs minor building maintenance.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: This position has no supervision responsibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to speak, read and write in the English language. The knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and cleaning of buildings; parks, recreational vehicles and customer service. Knowledge of job safety general safety practices and safety policies and procedures.
ABILITY TO: Understand and carry out oral and written directions. The ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Clean and care for assigned buildings and equipment. The ability to operate a variety of park maintenance equipment such as mowers, edgers and trimmers. The ability to perform office work and have basic computer skills. Perform assigned tasks independently without close supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience and training which demonstrates the required knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential job duties.
M INIMUM AGE: Must be 18 years or older.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: A combination of education, experience and/or training which demonstrates the required knowledge and ability to successfully perform job duties.
LICENSE: Possession of a valid California Operator’s License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, or equivalent if a resident of another state. Must have and maintain a license which is insurable under the current City insurance policies.
BACKGROUND: Candidate must be able to pass a livescan, physical and drug testing.

Wage and Benefits
Hourly Wage: $15.59 hourly wage paid bi-weekly
Sick Leave: 24 hours sick leave per fiscal year for part-time employees.
Deferred Compensation: 457 Plan

For the convenience of the employer, camp attendants that are assigned night shifts will be provided either an RV space to park an RV/trailer (utilities included) or the apartment on the premises for the convenience of the employer.
THE SELECTION PROCESS may consist of a written exam and an oral interview.
