Definition of Position
Under general supervision, performs service assignments and general manual labor for event logistics and building and grounds maintenance work at the Community Center.
This work will include a varied and broad range of tasks that may include event set-up and supervision, general custodial and maintenance tasks and grounds and park maintenance work. The work will include evening and weekend events as assigned, and will require a courteous and cooperative interaction with co-workers, volunteers and the general public. Hours vary from 8 – 25 per week based on need.
Any prior experience performing minor electrical, plumbing and custodial maintenance tasks, the operation of audio-visual equipment, or familiarity with the operations of mowers, trimmers, blowers and sprinkler system equipment would be considered as desirable qualifications.

A limited number of applicants meeting the requirements and demonstrating the most desirable qualifications will be invited to participate in the interview process. It is, therefore, important that the application be thorough, detailed, and clear. The interview and selection processes will consist of an oral panel interview, a possible second interview, a thorough background investigation, pre-employment fitness for duty and Drug/Alcohol exam. Applicants must be able to submit verification of a current, and valid CA Driver’s License with clean driver’s record at time of conditional offer. An eligibility list of qualified applicants will be established following the testing and interview process. The list will be in effect for 6 months.
