Under direction of the director or designee, the Human Services Housing Services Manager provides oversight
and programmatic development, coordination, and implementation across the Department of Health and
Human Services (DHHS) Housing Programs and Services. This position serves as the department liaison to
other departments, agencies, and the community on housing issues related to housing policy and housing
assistance. Provides county-wide leadership and coordination on housing issues. Responsibilities include
developing, recommending, and planning new housing programs and maintaining existing programs.

 Possession of a valid California driver’s license or equivalent from another state.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education, training and experience which would likely
provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required
knowledge and abilities would be:
Housing Services Manager I:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, business administration or related field; or
related coursework sufficient to acquire the knowledge and abilities to successfully perform the job functions,


Experience: Three (3) years’ experience performing various social, employment, counseling or related
services which included a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory, planning or administrative capacity with a
public or private human services organization; or three (3) years’ responsible supervisory experience in a
similar setting.
Housing Services Manager II: In addition to the above:
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Housing Services Manager I, or equivalent experience managing a
similar program.
