Overview

Sutter Coast Hospital multiple openings for the position of Environmental Services Technician. This position responds to special requests for cleaning or assistance needed in order to maintain the overall smooth flow of work for the facility, in a thorough and timely manner. This also includes using various types of disinfectants and germicidal cleaners. Essential Duties Include but are not limited to: Cleans patient rooms and offices including the washing of tables, chairs, lights, window sills, blinds, windows, walls, ceilings, vents. Performs hospital cleaning duties such as: sweeping, dusting and mopping floors, waxes, washes, polishes furniture and woodwork. Operates vacuum cleaner. Empties large trash containers. Carries out special isolation cleaning and patient discharge terminal cleaning. May disinfect delivery, surgery, and labor rooms. Empties and cleans waste receptacles, dirty linen receptacles, and cleans restrooms. Distributes laundered linens. Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains. Moves furniture and equipment to clean areas. Cleans beds, mattresses, and remakes beds after patient discharge. Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and
experience is required. Experience working as an Environmental Services Technician in a healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of healthcare equipment and cleaning chemicals is preferred. Skills: Able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks; Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
