Family owned business in Crescent City has an opening for a Full-Time Auto Mechanic. We are looking for a long-term employee that is hard-working dedicated and a team player. Applicants need to be familiar with European domestic and Japanese cars. Diesel experience is a plus! We are fully equipped shop with up-to-date equipment repair information. Experience is necessary as well as your own tools. CDL required, uniforms provided, and hourly rate based upon experience. Shop hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm. (Some Saturdays may be required.) We are looking for a skilled auto mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming for maximal reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic has good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electrical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must also be good communicators to provide advice to customers. Duties include: Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical electrical and components to diagnose issues accurately. Inspect vehicle computer and electronics systems to repair, maintain, and upgrade. Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming to maintain vehicle functionality and longevity. Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues. Provide accurate estimates (parts, labor, additional outside labor, special orders, and shipping) for a repair or maintenance job. Complete intake vehicle paperwork for front counter to accurately charge customers for services and parts provided, including your findings and labor to repair. Advise customer’s components to diagnose issues accurately. Inspect vehicle computer and electronics systems to repair, maintain and upgrade. Provide accurate estimates (parts, labor, additional outside labor, special orders, and shipping) for a repair or maintenance job. Complete intake vehicle paperwork for front counter to accurately charge customers for services and parts provided, including your findings and labor to repair. Advise
customers on future maintenance or additional work needed to maintain vehicles integrity. Maintain equipment, keep work area clean and tools in good condition. Requirements: proven experience as an auto mechanic. Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles. Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods. Ability to handle various hand tools and shop equipment safely and correctly. Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc. Excellent physical condition. High school diploma is preferred, certification for vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred. Valid certification (e.g. ASE) is a definite plus. Able to pass a drug test. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must have a great attitude and willingness to learn and be a team player. Must have attention to detail and be organized. Ability to perform day-to-day physical activities involving moderately demanding work including standing, kneeling, crawling, turning and pushing off or lifting moderately heavy objects. Additionally, working in cold
