Position: Deputy Clerk I
Monthly Salary Range: $2,735 – $4,242
Department: Modoc County Auditor/Clerk’s Department

Modoc County Auditor/Clerk’s Department is seeking applications for the role of Deputy Clerk I. This position involves diverse office administrative and technical responsibilities supporting the County Clerk’s functions. Duties include providing support for Elections, records search and retention, and facilitating elections. Responsibilities also encompass supervising and training temporary elections workers. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Proficiency in policies and procedures related to assigned functions
  • Competency in computer applications for word processing, data entry, and generating standard reports
  • Familiarity with business arithmetic, financial record keeping, bookkeeping practices, and auditing financial documents
  • Understanding of basic budgetary practices and terminology
  • Proficiency in standard office practices, filing, and operation of office equipment
  • Strong skills in business letter writing, proper formatting for typed materials, and correct business English
  • Ability to interact effectively with the public in-person and over the telephone
  • Proficient in record-keeping principles and practices
