Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision the incumbent will assist in the coordination and management of all Food Bank programs in accordance with guidelines from various government agencies and DHCL policies. The incumbent is also responsible for inventory of all incoming and outgoing food products in a timely and efficient manner. Incumbent may provide clerical assistance for all Food Bank programs and carries out directives of leadership. This position reports to Manager of Operations-Food bank.

Core Duties:

  • Performs order construction order confirmation stock transfer and other daily tasks for inventory control
  • Assists in preparation of periodic reports for departmental expense accounting inventory usage turnover and budge preparation as directed
  • Reviews techniques and parameters for perpetual stock maximizing inventory utilization while minimizing stock shortages
  • Checks quantity and weight of shipments against Bills of Lading noting any discrepancies
  • Stores all incoming goods on a daily basis including perishable donations
  • Assists in inventory as needed
  • Performs job duties following departmental policies and procedures
  • Accurately enters data in a timely manner
  • Assists with identifying process improvement opportunities and provides feedback or suggestions to management as appropriate
  • Oversees Food Bank in the absence of other staff and leadership
  • Functions as the Food Bank driver to collect and distribute food as on a needed basis
  • Cleans warehouse and distribution area by sweeping dusting and neatly arranging shelves and other stored items as required by the supervisor
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a current California driver’s license with clean DMV report
  • Must be able to read write and speak English
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills such as subtract multiply divide and solve work problems
  • Must be able to operate computer and calculator
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with personnel volunteers and general public

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certification
