Essential Duties:

  • To assist and support Executive Chef, to ensure efficient and professional preparation of pastries and baked goods for bar, dining room, and banquets.
  • To portion, plate, and tray all desserts.
  • To review banquet function sheets and complete daily task log prepared by Executive Chef.
  • To assist in the maintenance of a reference file of current recipes.
  • To requisition pastry supplies, as needed and approved.
  • To fill pastry orders, as requested.
  • To follow all specified procedures to open or close the kitchen.
  • To ensure safe work practices, including compliance with company and departmental safety rules and regulations and the proper use and handling of all relevant equipment.
  • To order product, as needed, through the appropriate vendors.
  •  To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment at all times.
  • To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Skills & Aptitude:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in preparing and baking pastries and baked goods.
  • Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. Learns quickly. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service.  Courteous, friendly manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
