Job Title: Fabricator

Job Time Type: Full Time (30 Hours or More)

Job Description: Sets up and operates a variety of production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machine ry. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Load and unload materials using a forklift.

Fabricator I:

Works on assignments that are routine in nature and where limited judgment is required. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Use forklift to load and unload laser and saws. Unloads and sorts materials coming off laser. Ability to read tape measure and accurately interpret measurements on a drawing. Machine set-up requires approval by Department Lead or Fabrication Supervisor before task is started. First Article inspection required after completion of first part. Reads and accurately interprets drawings to select, position and secure machinery. Typically limited to work assignments using the Saw, Drill, Press, Roller and Punch machines. Requires 0-1 years machining experience.

Fabricator II:

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is recognized. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. New assignments require approval of machine set up by Department Lead or Fabrication Supervisor before task is started. First Article inspection required after completion of first part. Ability to read and accurately interpret drawings and instruction sheets. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments. Required to be proficient on all machines described under Fabricator I. Assignments will be expanded to include use of the Lathe, Dual Operator ironworker and Milling Machines, -May be, introduced to assignments utilizing the Laser and Press Brake. Requires 3-5 years of hands on machining experience.
