OUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The Tehama County Facilities Maintenance Department maintains County facilities with care and attention. The department provides building maintenance, repairs and custodial services to County facilities. Facilities Maintenance anticipates needs, provides effective solutions, maintains communication and performs maintenance work in a timely manner.

Salary (A-E Steps)
Facilities Maintenance Technician I
$20.40 – $24.80 Hourly / $1,632.00 – $1,984.00 Biweekly / $42,432.00 – $51,584.00 Annually
Facilities Maintenance Technician II
$22.52 – $27.37 Hourly / $1,801.60 – $2,189.60 Biweekly / $46,841.60 – $56,929.60 Annually

Definition:
Under the direction of an assigned manager or designee, performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings and grounds; performs limited janitorial duties.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This person should have strong prioritization and problem solving skills. It is required that candidates have experience (minimum of 1 year) in building maintenance.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSES:
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Facilities Maintenance Technician I:

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a maintenance related field.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Facilities Maintenance Technician II:

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • Two (2) years of experience in maintenance related field.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

LICENSE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a valid California driver’s license.

The department currently has one (1) vacancy.
In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for a Facilities Maintenance Technician I/II, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list.
