Overview
Siskiyou County is hiring Field Representatives (year-round census takers).
Flexible Hours! Interesting Work! Help your community!
Wage: $14.95/hr. (Plus $0.58 cents per mile driving to and from an assignment.)
Work Schedule: Part time (can possibly turn into full-time)
Skills/Duties: Positions are available to conduct Census Bureau surveys on a variety of vital issues such as health, housing, income, and crime. Field Representatives interview at randomly selected addresses, usually using a laptop computer. The number of hours worked each week may range from 25-40 hours, depending on the workload in the assignment area. The best time to interview is on the weekends and evening. This is an ideal job for an organized, self-starter who enjoys meeting and talking with people. While most people are cooperative, some respondents require our interviewers to be skilled salespeople – that is, to “sell” them on the importance of the survey.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Be a citizen of the United States and present proof of identity and employment eligibility.
- Valid driver license and reliable vehicle to use in completing assignments.
