Overview

Over the past forty two years Spray Chem has grown to become a leader in the development and distribution of food plant cleaners, sanitizers, water treatment chemicals and innovative chemical application equipment.

We are looking for an equipment & maintenance technician with effective communication skills, the ability to focus on facts and details, and the ability to function as part of a team. An ideal candidate will have general mechanical knowledge and relative experience in one or more of the following trades. Process piping or commercial plumbing; Installation of conduit & electrical systems; Equipment maintenance & repair; Chemical feed pumps and controls. Tig welding and general steel fabrication.

This job requires repairing and installing chemical feed equipment, water softeners, pH controllers, etc., at commercial food and beverage plants and industrial facilities. This individual must visit the customer facility and may need to climb ladders or access rooftops as well as enter production areas, boiler rooms, and engine rooms to inspect, repair and replace chemical feed equipment. This person may also be required to maintain the shop and service vehicles in a clean and organized manor, perform routine maintenance at our facility, make minor repairs to company vehicles and equipment, as well as assist with the fabrication and assembly of custom feed systems.

This position will report to our Durham facility daily, however, much of the work will be performed at customer locations requiring a substantial amount of driving in a company vehicle. The current service vehicle is a utility truck which is required to stop at all vehicle scales and truck inspections. The individual in this position must have and maintain a clean driving record and a current California Drivers License. On average this position will travel, approximately 1000 miles per month or more and will require some occasional overnight travel.

Compensation: $20-$30/hr ,PTO, Medical (100% paid), 401(k) w/match.
