Responsible for efficient daily milling activities to assure operations are optimized.

Activities include operation of the milling process, prioritizing and assigning proactive

and reactive milling maintenance, troubleshooting milling issues, maintaining quality

product going to flour bins, monitoring wheat input with proper blending for protein

specifications, moisture and cleaning, repairing day planning, procuring needed milling

materials, controlling spare parts inventory for rolls, sifters, purifiers, and other milling

equipment, managing hands on training for new and existing millers, ensuring best

practice execution and performing work quality checks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Millers perform a wide range of technical functions,


  • Lifting 50 pounds
  • Responsible for efficient coordination of daily milling activities and assigns daily work to available mill crew.
  • Participates in daily shift change meetings and assembles/disseminates communication to the appropriate departments as needed.
  • Daily monitoring and follow up for milling efficiencies and product quality for each shift.
  • Manages Milling equipment Spare Parts inventory for repair days and maintains control.
  • Utilizes unique milling skills to troubleshoot/perform adjustments as needed.
  • Updates and maintains and accurate mill repair schedule.

Possible Degrees/Training:

Valid Driver’s License

High School Diploma/GED

CA Wheat Commission Training

Correspondence Course Milling Science for continuing education during employment.

Minimum Hourly Wage: 20.00
Maximum Hourly Wage: 25.00
