Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high quality and productivity standards per requirements
  • Understand and adhere to prescribed company safety procedures
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair gasoline and diesel engines, drive train components, automotive electrical systems, and fluid and power systems
  • Work on log handling equipment in a variety of environmental conditions (cold, hot, wet, snowing, windy) with safety as a priority
  • Fabrication and welding
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Operates and inspects machines and equipment to diagnose component defects and perform repairs
  • Identifies and researches replacement parts for order
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair and understand all types of rolling stock
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to fight fires at incipient phase
  • Excellent attendance and safety record
  • Must learn new applicable technologies as directed
  • Must be a team player and willing to work with other maintenance trades
  • Must have own tools; hand and air
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-motivated
  • Must have current driver’s license and have or be able to obtain CDL
  • Must be willing to work shift work and weekends as needed
