Responsible for maintenance and repair of the heavy equipment fleet. The heavy equipment inventory includes snow cats, trucks, plows, and general rolling stock vehicles. Technical duties include inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles; both gasoline and diesel operated vehicles. Position requires understanding the principles and applications for hydraulics, motors, hydrostatic systems and electrical vehicle systems. Position requires welding, cutting, and fabricating steel. Administrative duties include maintaining and accounting or shop, tools, support equipment, supplies, and tracking vehicle maintenance schedules; accountability for gas, diesel, and oil consumptions. Position serves as point of contact for vehicle repairs, industry contacts, and government shop inspectors. Other duties as assigned, may include working in other departments.
