PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Eligibility Coordinator is responsible for determining eligibility, completing necessary paperwork, and managing family files for Subsidized Child Care parents.
High School Degree required. Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
One year of experience in childcare eligibility or a related field preferred.
Ability to work well with people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds with sensitivity to the issues of poverty as they relate to work and childcare issues.
Experience with bookkeeping, filing, and other office skills.
Knowledge of computer programs including proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
The ability to be flexible, self-motivated, and reliable.
Possess or obtain within 30 days of hire a valid California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
Able to obtain California Criminal and Child Abuse Index clearance.
Work as a team player for whom the ownership of ideas is less important than the result of the collaborative effort. As such, the individual will be a team player who can take both leader and follower roles as the situation requires.
Schedule appointments with and determine eligibility of prospective clients.
Complete all paperwork and manage files of eligible families.
Re-certify families according to funding requirements.
Provide technical assistance to enrolled families.
Attend trainings, conferences, and other opportunities for strengthening job knowledge and performance.
Run monthly State reports for all California Department of Education and California Department of Social Services attendance programs.
Work with the Resources and Referral Coordinator to onboard new clients.
Adhere to the HRN Employee Handbook.
Other duties as assigned for agency growth and development.
