Overview

Summary of Job Duties:

Responsible for ensuring that incoming materials are received, properly stored, and issued to end-users. Assures that Sales Orders and Stock Transfers are filled and shipped according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Essential Job Duties / Functions:

This position is divided into the following areas of functional responsibility with approximate percentages assigned indicating the amount of time spent on each activity, which may include:

65% Receives materials from Manufacturing and Receiving; issues materials from Stores to Manufacturing; and makes internal deliveries.
20% Cycle counts active and non-nettable inventory as directed by Materials management. Ensures that inventory and cycle-counts are accurate.
10% Stages materials for Sales Orders and Stock Transfers; packages for shipment and boxes per SOP’s or customer instructions. Supports Materials department during peak periods, service Production Control requests, and other duties.
5% Assists other departments in achieving company production and quality goals.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the above essential functions, this position may be required to perform some of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon department necessity.

• Works closely with the other departments to ensure timely and accurate shipment of materials to our customers.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

Must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities, plus be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, by using some other combination of skill and abilities.

• Accurately input and extract data/information using basic computer/system skills.
• Good math skills, in order to precisely measure, weigh and count materials to ensure accurate inventory. Maybe required to use handheld calculator.
• Ability to learn and apply safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals and materials; plus ability to understand MSDS requirements and their safe applications.
• Ability to read Sales Orders, Stock Transfers, and Job Packets to pull required materials from stores.
• Able to work overtime and six days per week when required.

Qualification Standards:

Training: Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from High School, or that would provide required knowledge, skill and ability to successfully perform the assigned job duties.
Experience: Relevant 6 months Inventory experience, or equivalent; plus basic computer skills.
Grooming: Position requires clean, hazard free clothing; plus good personal-hygiene standards.
Environment: 70% inside, open warehouse environment, and 30% outside-yard environment; where temperatures during the year range from very cold (20s) in the winter, to very hot (110+) in the summer.
Safety: Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection where required, and face shield while building crates and while using packaging foam equipment.
