Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor

Job Time Type: Full and Part Time Positions

Job Description:

STATUS/HOURS/SCHEDULE: Regular, Part-Time & Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and “at-will”. Kitchen open Monday–Friday. Position available 30-40 hours/week

PAY: $16.00per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Coordinate and supervise the efficient production of daily meals in compliance with nutritional guidelines
  • Insure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations as they relate to food service and work place safety
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and orderly and in compliance with Health and Safety Standards
  • Report any equipment or facility feature that is damaged or need of repair. Initiate repair orders and purchase replacement parts
  • Assists with recruitment of subordinate staff. Directly responsible for training subordinates to operate kitchen equipment safely and to ensure food service safety
  • Schedule, supervise and evaluate program staff
  • Review and approve employee and volunteer time records
  • Order and receive all incoming deliveries of all raw food and food services supplies necessary for meal preparation
  • Maintain appropriate supplies levels as needed for the operation of meals
  • Conduct annual inventory of all supplies and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain a list of vendor contacts
  • Ensure all kitchen logs and reports are completed at the appropriate intervals; check for accuracy, completeness, make and record any corrective actions
  • Reconcile vendor invoices, assure their accuracy, initiate appropriate corrections, and submit monthly to accounting
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with menu planning, preparation and operations
  • Fill in for kitchen staff when need arises
  • Other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate and maintain commercial kitchen appliances
  • Able to give and follow directions, provide and take instructions, and see that assignments are carried out to completion
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff members, subordinates and administrators

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Dependable and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to comply with all Food Service Worker Policy requirements (i.e.: head coverings, hand washing, fingernail maintenance, jewelry, clothing, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain a California Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds and perform other physical tasks required to carry out the essential duties
  • Minimum Age: 18

Education Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Requires a Driver’s License: Yes, Operator License

Minimum Salary: 16.00 Hour  

Maximum Salary: DOE (Depends on Experience)
