Candidates will be required to float to either Med/Surg or ER floors when the OB patient volume is low. Pay Range with Benefits: $42.56 – $60.68/hour

Pay Range Without Benefits: $51.07 – $72.82/hour

*** $10,000.00 sign-on bonus offered to new hires in this role who have a minimum of two years of experience working in this capacity with a commitment of 3 years. ***

Full-time, permanent, direct-hire position

The setting is a rural, critical access hospital located in Northern California about 2 hours from Chico to the West and Reno to the East. Lake Tahoe, and exceptional winter skiing, is just under 2 hours away.

Schedule: varied, operating on three 12-hour shifts per week.

The Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing high quality patient care throughout the birthing process, including preparing expecting mothers, labor/delivery, and the postpartum process

The L&D Registered Nurse must be comfortable and resourceful at floating to other departments such as Med/Surg and/or Emergency Department when needed. Training is provided, and you’ll work with a very supportive staff.

Must have at least an Associate’s Degree from an accredited Nursing program, BSN preferred

Must have current California Registered Nurse license OR be eligible to obtain prior to start date

Must be certified in BLS and ACLS prior to hire and maintain throughout employment

Must be certified or eligible to obtain Advanced Fetal Heart Rate Monitor and NRP certifications prior to hire and maintain throughout employment

Prefer at least 1-2 years of recent, full-time work experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, Mother & Baby, or similar setting. Willing to consider motivated new grad

You’ll be adept at working as the primary nurse during the delivery process, capable of handling the full spectrum of labor and delivery duties calmly, while maintaining a caring demeanor. You’ll be comfortable asking for additional help when necessary. Also, our 4 dedicated and supportive FPOB physicians will be available to support you. Our hospital is a UC Davis Rural Center of Excellence. Our Labor and Delivery department is operated in partnership with UC Davis Medical Center, which provides high fidelity video telemedicine, staffed 24/7 by specialists in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, along with expert guidance from the UC Davis Neonatal Transport Team. We offer standardized delayed cord clamping, 2 hours of neonatal skin to skin time, cutting edge oral glucose gel protocols, and lactation support. We’ve won over 12 obstetric safety awards through Beta Quest for Zero. We are accredited by the Joint Commission.
