Position Description

Duties include but are not limited to expertise in a variety of mechanical fields to troubleshoot, install, replace and repair manufacturing systems in a heavy industrial manufacturing plant. Must be familiar with preventive maintenance, lubrication, machinery maintenance, hydraulic, air and steam applications and proficient in welding. Eligible candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment criminal history check and pre-employment drug screening.

Position Responsibilities

Install machinery according to layout plans and blueprints.
General repair and maintenance of plant mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Troubleshoot, repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
Dismantle machinery, assemble and install equipment such as shafting and conveyors.
Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools.
Cut and weld.
Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Read and understand service and technical manuals.
General maintenance support as needed.
Ability to work without constant supervision.
Must be positive, proactive self-started who works well as with others
Ability to work in a safe manner and comply with all policies and regulations
Wear/use a variety of personal protective equipment per company and OSHA standards

Position Requirements

Possess a Journeyman Industrial Maintenance Millwright Certification with minimum 4 years prior experience (One year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
 Operate forklift, manlift or other heavy equipment
 Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills
 Excellent listening skills
 Shift work and occasional weekends

Physical Requirements 

Must have good eye/hand coordination.
 Vision requirements:
 Hearing Sensitivity-Possess the ability to detect or tell the difference between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness.
 Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, twist, stand, walk, climb, kneel, carry heavy items; pushing and pulling of weights of up to 50 pounds

Environmental Conditions
Environment is typically dusty while working on the equipment due to wood fiber.
Areas exist where floor surfaces are uneven.
Ability to access equipment includes stairs, elevated catwalks, ladders, and powered manlifts. Access may also include climbing over equipment
Work takes place inside and outside buildings during all weather conditions, therefore variable temperatures occur.
