Overview

The Parent Educator works with parents in a Trauma-Informed Care model to provide parents with information and education to develop children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills in a violence-free environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include:

·         Develops and implements educational programs to provide parents with information and education to develop and promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills in a violence-free environment.

·         Conducts intake interviews to analyze and assess participant needs.

·         Performs educational training in individual and group settings, in the home and at the business office.

·         Ensures casework records are kept and maintained to ensure compliance with grant goals, objectives and Lassen Family Services, Inc.’s policies and procedures.

·         Provides public education on issues related to parenting, violence, and the services offered at Lassen Family Services.

·         Attends conferences and workshops related to abuse and parenting, networks with other service providers, and maintains positive relationships with community agencies.
