Empower Tehama seeks an experienced Legal Clerical Assistant to provide daily support for the Legal Department.

Empower Tehama is a nonprofit organization in rural Northern California. Our mission is to promote healthy relationships and social change in our communities. We offer services
for individuals and families affected by domestic violence and act as the lead agency for our community’s system for addressing homelessness and community housing.

About the Job
This position provides daily clerical support for the Legal Department. Duties include filing and uploading legal documents, preparing documents for service, maintaining and
updating legal client files, accompanying clients to court, maintaining communication with clients regarding their cases, and providing daily support to the Legal Team. The
Legal Clerical Assistant will provide backup assistance for emergency Temporary Restraining Order cases and will maintain a relationship with the clerical staff at the courthouse.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook alongside working knowledge of Word and Excel. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills. Strong active
listening skills, professional phone etiquette, good decision-making, attention to detail and a non-judgmental attitude required. An applicant who is bilingual in the English/Spanish language is a plus but not an absolute requirement for this position.

This position is full-time (40+ hours) based on agency needs. Staff may be required to work weekends and/or after hours. Upward mobility is available from this position.
