Job Description Restpadd Red Bluff is a short drive away from lakes, hiking and biking trails, Mount Lassen, Mount Shasta, and the Sacramento River. The facility is a 16 bed inpatient psychiatric health facility for acute treatment of adult and adolescent patients experiencing a mental health crisis. The facility offers treatment of patients from all over northern California and provides a much needed resource to the community.

Restpadd Red Bluff is the only acute psychiatric facility north of Sacramento that offers treatment to the adolescent population. Licensed Mental Health Professionals at Restpadd Red Bluff PHF have the unique opportunity to provide insight and compassion to some of the least fortunate individuals from our community. Those who suffer serious and persistent mental illness often not only lose much of their livelihood, but also experience a loss of self as they disconnect from who they really are, or once were. There is no greater reward for a Social Worker or Therapist than to see their patients heal. At Restpadd, we promote and support patients’ recovery and enable them to have more involvement and control over their conditions. DEFINITION: The Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, LCSW or LMFT, provides psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, group, individual, and family therapy, case management, and discharge planning.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (may include, but not limited to the following) 1. Works with the interdisciplinary team in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans. 2. Plans and implements appropriate group, family, and individual therapy. 3. Maintains cooperative working relationships and effective communication with local law enforcement, county personnel, community resources, and other outside agencies as appropriate. 4. Coordinates care with outpatient providers and resources to ensure a safe and effective aftercare plan. 5. Provides therapeutic intervention in crisis situations

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master’s degree in behavioral science with current CA licensure of LCSW or LMFT is required 2. At least 2 years of post-master’s experience in a mental health setting 3. Experience and comfort working with adolescents and families a PLUS!

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO: 1. Knowledge of mental disorders and their treatment as well as psychosocial and family issues pertaining to developmental delays and mental illnesses 2. Effective communication including initiating individual and group discussion, listening, clarifying, and facilitating interaction among group members 3. Writing skills to effectively document assessments and interactions with patients 4. Understanding of goal setting techniques and safety planning 5. High degree of knowledge and strategies for dealing with a variety of people from varying educational and socio-cultural backgrounds
