Do you have a passion for sales, mentoring, and business development? As a Product Sales Representative – based in Southern California (Fresno, Fontana or Santa Clarita). As the PSR you will be responsible for purchasing, selling and leading responsibilities for lumber products to the area and business.

This position will be responsible for sourcing materials and coaching the sales team on pricing and availability while building strong relationships with customers.  The PSR will be expected to have a complete understanding of the Southern California market, the competitors, customers, and market drivers that make the area unique.

The PSR leads the team, providing concise local market analysis to complement national guidance. The PSR will provide concise updates to our Southern California Sales team, help develop strategies to help customers resolve their business challenges while providing returns to WY shareholders. This position reports directly to the Sales Manager.

Qualifications

  • Must have lumber commodity experience, from the building products industry.
  • Minimum five years purchasing and sales experience possessing a solid level of expertise in lumber product.
  • Proven ability to develop new customer relationships and grow existing business through consultative sales and customer service skills.
  • Team player, partner well with internal partners (sales & operations).
  • Lead and participates in customer events, promotion, and other customer activities.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational and functional boundaries.
  • Understands and can articulate the financial drivers of retail, wholesale, and construction industry.
  • Prior experience in sales team management. Experience in residential wood or building materials sales is preferred. Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Ability to collaborate across organizational and functional boundaries.
  • Proven experience in customer and supplier program development and support
  • Established relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to build trust with teams and customers.
  • Ability to lead product line growth from a peer/influencer role.
  • Ability to manage an inventory program with proper Return On Investment.
  • SAP or other related software programs preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
