Job Title: Maintenance Aide (Limited Term)
Job Time Type: Part Time (Less than 30 Hours)
Job Description: Under supervision, to perform a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks in the routine operation of public facilities; to operate Type C power driven equipment; to perform related duties as required.
Typical Duties:
- Perform heavy routine manual labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of streets, sewers, buildings, parks, recreation areas and other municipal facilities; *
- Load and unload material; *
- Excavate and backfill trenches with appropriate hand tools; *
- Clean gutters, drains and culverts; *
- Rake leaves, clean grounds and assist in spraying; *
- Cut weeds, clear brush and trim trees; *
- Operate, clean and maintain basic tools and equipment used on the job; *
- May drive dump truck and other similar Type C power driven equipment;
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Use, maintenance and application of basic hand tools; safe work practices.
Ability to: Perform heavy manual labor; maintain and establish cooperative working relationships; understand and carry out oral and written directions; read and write at the level necessary to perform the above.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience/Education: Any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Additional Requirement: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License.
If permanently assigned to Tree Maintenance:
Perform a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks in tree maintenance; this includes heavy routine manual labor in the maintenance of trees.
Desired Qualifications:
Some paid experience in manual labor preferred.
If permanently assigned to Tree Maintenance:
Some paid experience in the maintenance of trees.
Requires a Driver’s License: Yes
Minimum Salary: 14.00 Hour Maximum Salary: 18.75 Hour
Pay Comments: DOE (Depends on Experience)
