Position Title : Manager – Lakeview Operations

Position Location: Lakeview, Oregon

Position Description: Responsible for overseeing the Lakeview operations, a softwood sawmill. This position requires a thorough understanding of softwood sawmill manufacturing, which is essential to overseeing and managing the operations of the log yard, two-line sawmill planing mill, hogged-wood fired boiler and dry kilns.

Position Responsibilities:  The position will require the use of performance based (structured management) systems to acquire data and design analytical models for improved business and operating procedures. Further, the Operations Manager will:
 Gauge productivity, cost control, recovery, quality and related operational measures to design and implement improvements in execution, capital upgrades and product/market strategies.
 Conduct budget forecasting and profit margin analysis.
 Oversee site management and staffing.
 Monitor and maintain safety and environmental compliance in site operations.
 Create and maintain business, technical and operational procedure reports for management.
 Prepare and analyze Capital Improvement projects and budget requests.

Position Requirements: Business Management degree or equivalent work experience.
 Strong background in sawmilling techniques, process management and quality control.
 Knowledge of dimension and industrial lumber, logs and by-product markets.
 Strong fundamentals in business and personnel management with proven leadership capabilities.
 Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
 Excellent written and verbal communications.
