We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Administrative Assistant to work closely with our Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) at Mayers Memorial Healthcare District and Healthcare Foundation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor to our organization’s success. The Administrative Assistant will provide crucial administrative support to the CPRO, with a focus on public relations, marketing, operations, and various tasks related to the Mayers Pharmacy Gift Shop and the Mayers Healthcare Foundation.
This job description is intended to identify some of the primary duties and responsibilities. High school Diploma: bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of marketing and public relations principles is a plus.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve effectively.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Professional behavior is demonstrated, both when on duty and as a representative of MMHD outside of normal work hours.
Ability to work with others, at all levels within the organization, and collaborate effectively.
Above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
A positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and facility staff is demonstrated.

Answers phone calls, assists public, and forwards appropriately if necessary and in a professional and friendly manner.

Help to manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence on behalf of the CPRO.
Assist with the preparation and editing of documents, reports, and presentations.
Marketing and Public Relations
Assist as needed in the development and execution of marketing and public relations campaigns.
Assist and collaborate with the PR team to draft press releases, social media content, and promotional materials.
Operations of Mayers Pharmacy Gift Shop
Assist with the Mayers Pharmacy Gift Shop, ensuring inventory is stocked and organized.
Work with vendors, suppliers, and customers to provide excellent service and maintain a welcoming shopping environment.
Assist in visual merchandising and marketing efforts for the gift shop.
Assisting with Mayers Healthcare Foundation
Support the Mayers Healthcare Foundation and the Program Director in planning and organizing events, fundraisers, and campaigns.
Provide support to the thrift store as needed, including inventory management, pricing, and customer service.
Collaborate with the Foundation team on various operational tasks as needed.
Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and professional.
Completes annual education requirements if applicable.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Wears identification while on duty.
Attends annual evaluation and participates actively in this process.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.
Attends all meetings as appropriate.
Exhibits the mission, ethics, and goals of Mayers Memorial Hospital District in the performance of job duties.
Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
Is involved with personnel, visitors, and government agencies, etc., when necessary.
Must function independently, have personal integrity, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with other personnel, clients, and support agencies.
Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks, and moves intermittently during working hours.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
