Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the CPRO, the Program Director will facilitate the events and other fundraising functions for Mayers Memorial Hospital District through Mayers Healthcare Foundation a 501c(3) non-profit organization. This position is responsible for working with the CPRO to create and implement a total fundraising program using a combination of direct mail, estate planning, tribute giving, special events, and grants to maximize dollars raised. The program director will on occasion perform other duties related to MHF as assigned by the CPRO.
The program director, will along with other MHF support staff, work with the CPRO to provide regular reporting to the MHF board at the regularly scheduled MHF meetings.
This job description is intended to identify some of the primary duties and responsibilities. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and/or education in business, public relations, or similar area or equivalent experience in non-profit sector or healthcare setting preferred.
History of community involvement and knowledge of community resources available.
Strong computer skills, knowledge of accounting, exceptional communication skills.
Project management skills and event coordination skills are desired.
Experience in the non-profit sector is desired.
Experience in retail marketing and merchandising is desired.

Specific Competencies:

Educate others on the future direction of the District and the Foundation and inspire them to be supporters and advocates
Provides oversight and direction in the planning and organization of the fundraising events, programs, and activities for the Foundation
Works effectively and carries out the recommendations of the financial committee and financial advisors
Fund Development
Appraises the fundraising potential of individual donors and organizations.
Works collaboratively with MHF support staff in Marketing: website, social media, annual reports, annual appeals, news media articles/events
Participates in appropriate community activities, groups, and professional organizations to raise the profile of the Foundation and Hospital District
Develops short- and long-range goals to implement and manage an effective fundraising program
Maintains and develops donor database
Will assist to Establish, monitor, and maintain record-keeping systems for fundraising and prepare reports including financial budgets
Develops strong relationships with donors, philanthropic organizations, and corporations
Maintains and develops grant opportunities
Position requires occasional evening, weekend hours, and work-related travel
Maintains and adheres to the bylaws, policies and articles of incorporation of the Foundation.
Positive attitude, teamwork and interaction with hospital staff, foundation board members, donors, potential donors, and the public.
Willingness to respond to foundation needs; effective communicator.

Completes annual education requirements if applicable.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Wears identification while on duty.
Attends annual evaluation and participates actively in this process.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
Is involved with personnel, visitors and government agencies, etc., when necessary.
Must function independently, have personal integrity, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with other personnel, clients and support agencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks and moves intermittently during working hours.
Able to lift 20 lbs.
