Overview

Job Summary:

This Position reports directly to the owner of the business.  It is responsible for many aspects of the day to day process of making Beef jerky (see below).   It is fully responsible for producing quality, safe product that lives up to the standards and reputation of Riley’s Jerky and must always represent the company in a positive manner, both at work and in the community.  The position is an “at will” employee position in accordance with California state Law.

Primary Duties:

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Washing, Sanitizing, Rinsing and assembling trays and screens
  • Sanitizing tables, equipment, etc
  • Loading marinated meat
  • Chunking/slicing/cutting meat
  • Setting up and plugging in Dehydrators and associated equipment
  • Labeling and packaging bags with Ready to Eat Jerky
  • Shipping product into commerce
  • Maintaining proper paperwork at every step daily
  • Maintaining a clean, safe working environment for all employees
  • Washing Trays, Screens, Dehydrators, buckets, etc.
  • Other duties as described my Management
  • May require occasional weekend hours to be worked

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Must have the ability to lift 60 lbs
  • Must have high standards of cleanliness
  • Must have the ability to work in a warehouse like environment in close proximity with others
  • Must be able to safely handle sharp objects (knife/slicer/etc)
  • Must get along well with others
  • Must have great attention to detail
  • Must be willing to handle and be around raw beef carcass and blood on a regular basis.
