FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Wage Range: $30.48 – $38.69 per hour

Summary: Maintains, repairs and adjusts equipment throughout the facility to ensure smooth processes and quality product.

Key Result Areas (KRA’s) include the following:

Mechanical Responsibilities: Performs metal fabrication with stainless steel as well as mild steel.; Reacts with urgency to fix or solve mechanical and facility problems that arise to avoid downtime, increase efficiencies and ensure safety.; Maintains current NFPA 70e training standards.; Troubleshoots electrical problems and makes necessary repairs.

Preventive Maintenance Responsibilities: Lubes all motors and gear boxes according to schedule.; Performs all other preventive maintenance according to schedule.; Maintains accurate maintenance records using JD Edwards CAM.

Miscellaneous: Communicates with machines operators and supervisors while performing mechanical related tasks in their area.; Performs other duties and assists others in the department as needed.

Safety: Ensures that all personnel working/passing around their equipment does so in a safe manner.; Follows confined space and lock out/tag out/try out procedures.; Performs all safety requirements pertaining to the job.

Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required; Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Manufacturing environment (or in a similar field), required. Education can be used to substitute some years of required experience.; Able to weld using MIG, TIG, & ARC processes. Possess ample electrical knowledge. Knows air compressors and steam cleaners. Have plumbing, welding & fabrication experience as well as experience using metal lathe and milling machine.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Valid CA Driver’s License and Forklift Certified.

Language Skills – Ability to read and understand documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and letters.

Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands – Regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently is required to walk. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Work Environment – Must be able to work Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Frequently exposed to weather conditions, heat, and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet conditions; high, precarious places; fumes; chemicals; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
