Located in the greater Redding area, the Mountain Valley Special Education JPA is a consortium of 13 small school districts and one charter school that was created to provide a broader continuum of services for students with disabilities.
Job Summary
Location is Mountain View Middle School in Redding, CA. The instructional assistant’s primary responsibility is to assist students in becoming academically proficient in the California Standards and assists teachers in classroom activities. The instructional aide tutors, supervises works with individual or groups of students to provide safety, or help implement the curriculum under the direction of teacher(s) or principal. Assists with student behavior, and may work one on one with a student. Performs related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma, GED equivalent or highest college degree completed
Proof of ONE of the following:
Passed 48 units of college coursework
AA degree
Passed CBEST
Passed ESSA compliant Paraprofessional test offered at Shasta County Office of Education
Comments and Other Information
6.5 hours daily depending on assignment
Education Stipend (paid annually for highest level)
Associates (AA) $300
Bachelors (BA) $600
Masters (MS) $1,250
Doctorate $1,500
Work days: Monday – Friday 8:15am-3:15pm ; Actual start / end times may be adjusted slightly based on work site
Benefits are optional and prorated (if more than 6hrs/day)
