Overview
JOB SUMMARY: Parking Attendants direct the public and employees to parking places in an orderly and efficient manner, thereby maximizing the number of vehicles parked.
JOB DUTIES: Employees need to be able to make decisions regarding the size of vehicles and direct the customer to park in the correct location. Parking attendants need to demonstrate patience and customer service skills while dealing with the public and other departmental employees. Other duties include set up of parking lot signs and barricades, snow removal, trash clean up, ski check and possible operation of a shuttle. Other duties as assigned which may include working in other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age at least 16 with a current work permit. A valid driver’s license is required to operate the shuttle.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT: Mt. Shasta Ski Park is located at 5,500 ft. elevation. Winter conditions can be severe with sub-zero temperatures, high wind and heavy snow. The work is all performed outside in these conditions. Uniform items will be issued.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to do manual labor for up to 6 hours a day, carry signs (up to 40 lbs.) and stand for 4 hours at a time directing traffic.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a seasonal part time position. The schedule will include weekends, holidays and evenings. Depending on snow conditions, the season typically runs from mid December to mid April. Shifts typically start at 6:00am to 6:30am. It is your responsibility to report to work on time. Scheduled work shifts can change without notice depending on the Ski Parks requirements.
REPORTS TO: This position reports to the parking – Security Supervisor.
BENEFITS: This is a non-exempt seasonal hourly position. Pay is $16/hr – $17/hr and is based on experience and prior Mt. Shasta Ski Park employment. Benefits also include season pass and food/retail discounts.
