Overview

As a Sterilization Technician at NVIH you will work directly under general supervision of the Lead RDA in providing and managing the sterilization of all dental equipment. On the job training will be provided.

This is a temporary position available at each of our dental clinics, Chico, Willows, Woodland and Red Bluff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) disinfecting/turnover. PAPRs are worn by all dental staff and must be disinfected between each patient.
Maintaining the instruments and working areas in strict accordance with sterilization/ disinfection protocols.
Preparing and arranging instruments, medications and required material.
Taking inventory, stocking all supplies, instruments and medications.
Maintaining dental equipment and operatories in good, clean condition at all times.
Maintaining personal protection per OSHA guidelines as it pertains to personal safety, i.e., protective clothing, eyewear, gloves.
Participating in in-service training, department and general staff meetings and clinics.
Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
Prior experience with sterilization equipment and processes preferred
Must have reliable transportation.
Punctuality, accuracy, efficiency and professionalism.
High School Diploma or equivalent, GED.
