SALARY
(A-E Steps)
Office Manager I:
$23.66 – $28.75 Hourly / $1,892.52 – $2,300.37 Biweekly
Office Manager II:
$26.11 – $31.74 Hourly / $2,088.99 – $2,539.18 Biweekly

Required Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of data collection and report preparation
  • Techniques for dealing effectively with and providing a high level of customer service to all individuals contacted in the course of work
  • Basic bookkeeping and accounting practices including County budgeting and financial operations
  • Applicable Federal, State, County, Department, and Division laws, regulations, policies and procedures

Skills in:

  • Learning and understanding the organization and operation of the County and of outside agencies as necessary to assume assigned responsibilities
  • Organizing and prioritizing a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize own work, set priorities and meet critical time deadlines
  • Using tact, initiative, prudence and independent judgment within general policy, procedural and legal guidelines in politically sensitive situations

Required Education:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills,and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Office Manager I/II: Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and supplemental training or coursework in secretarial skills, business administration, or computer applications related to the work. An Associate’s Degree is highly desirable.
  • Office Manager I: One (1) year of administrative support work involving the supervision of others. Other combinations of education & experience may be considered.
  • Office Manager II: Two (2) years of administrative support work involving the supervision of others. Other combinations of education & experience may be considered.

License and Special Requirements:

  • Requires a valid California driver’s license.
  • May require DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance.

The department is recruiting to fill one (1) vacancy.
In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for an Office Manager I/II, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list.
