Full-time position 

Position Summary: 
Under the supervision of the Director of RCM and Compliance, the Patient Services Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating the daily activities of the patient services staff, ensuring proper coverage at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  1. Manages front office operations including, but not limited to day-to-day supervision of staffing, schedules, and patient flow
  2. Ensures effective staff utilization to meet staffing and workload requirements to support the delivery of quality patient care and services
  3. Assists with implementing front office policies and procedures
  4. Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  5. Assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work and performance of immediate staff
  6. Delegates tasks and provides training to front office staff
  7. Investigates and resolves employee conflicts if they should arise within the front office department Escalates inter-departmental conflicts to immediate supervisor(s) as appropriate
  8. Monitors payroll for all front office staff. Approves and/or denies paid time off
  9. Ensures front office staff collects appropriate information from patients, updates records, and provides excellent customer service
  10. Handles all patient complaints, escalating to appropriate director-level staff as needed
  11. Participates in recruiting, selection, and training of new front office staff
  12. Maintains front office staff job results by assisting in coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  13. Provides monthly reports to Director of RCM regarding key performance indicators as assigned
  14. Completes annual evaluations
  15. Monitors staff and patient flow
  16. Other duties as assigned

Requirements: 
Minimum 18 years of age
While performing the duties of this job, this employee is frequently required to do the following:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Associates degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
  3. At least 5 years of experience in a health care setting, with a minimum of 2 years front office experience
  4. At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  5. Bilingual preferred
  6. CPR certification required
  7. Experience with Indian Health Services is preferred
  8. Willingness to develop additional skills as needed
  9. Be able to maintain a professional and courteous attitude with patients and fellow employees
  10. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline
  11. Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols
  12. Strong documentation skills
  13. Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
