The Modoc County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a Sheriff’s Patrol Sergeant. The Sergeant plans, assigns, schedules, deploys, supervises, and reviews the work of sworn personnel. The position performs a full range of peace officer duties and may perform other related duties as assigned.  Applicants must pass full background, physical aptitude test and have successfully completed a CA POST Academy.


  • $3,997-$5,905 Monthly
  • 5% step increase annually for first 5 years
  • 10% BA Degree
  • 5% AA Degree
  • 10% Bi-lingual Pay
  • On Call Pay


  • CalPERS Retirement (2.7% at 57 for new employees)
  • Medical/Dental/Vision
  • Paid Sick & Vacation Leave
  • 5% for POST Intermediate
  • 10% Advance POST
  • Patrol is assigned take home vehicles, firearms and equipment including iPad, cell phone and more. Range membership provided.
