Overview
Serves to assist in providing age-appropriate services for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, under appropriate licensed supervision, to individuals, evaluation and selection of adaptive equipment, participation in quality improvement programs, and documentation of services according to hospital and departmental standards. Provides administrative support as needed. Responsible for cleaning therapy treatment areas and equipment. Maintain appropriate levels of supplies.
Qualifications
Preferred Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 2 or more years’ experience in a patient care setting as a technician, certified nursing assistant, or a restorative nursing aide.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to establish priorities
- Ability to recognize physical or behavioral changes in patient during course of treatment
- Ability to use, inspect, and maintain clinical equipment
- Knowledge of purpose, expected outcome, and safety factors involved in the care provided
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Knowledge of and use of all office equipment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and some medical pathology
