Overview

Ascend Wilderness Experience is seeking a Public Relations and Fundraising Manager.  Administrative tasks: assist in data management, grant writing, professional correspondence with partners.
Fundraising & Events: Works to ensure fundraising streams via grants, community fundraising, donor relationships, etc. Help organize events, community outreach. Manage merchandise and memberships.
Manage social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, MailChimp
Develop & Distribute Promotional Materials: press releases, signage, brochures, assist in program outreach, etc.
Program Assistance: assist Program Director in implementation of backpacking and stewardship programs, outdoor education events, Outdoor Education Programming, Spring Break Day Camp, etc.

Experience using these computer programs required:  Google Drive, Spreadsheet software, Wordprocessing software, Internet agility, Social Media Platforms

Support for professional development; monthly communication stipend; paid time off, holidays, sick leave;
health care and retirement.
Education Requirement:
A bachelor’s degree or 2 years of full-time office administration and managerial experience is preferred.

Willingness to help transport participants to and from trailheads and driving to Redding to buy food is
preferred but not contingent on a person filling this position. If a person is willing to help the organization
with transportation, hours are compensated and mileage is refunded at the current mileage reimbursement
for California as determined by the IRS. A 3-year driving record from the DMV and proof of insurance will be
required upon hire. Anyone driving for Ascend will be subject to Ascend Wilderness Experience’s Driving
Policy guidelines.
