Overview

Summary of Job Duties:

Responsible for ensuring that incoming materials are properly received, accounted for, issued to end-users, and documentation for all inventory transactions (correcting any inaccuracies).

Essential Job Duties / Functions:

75 %    Receives materials from UPS, truck freight, etc; matches Packing Slips to Purchase Order; records and documents deliveries and changes to inventory; issues materials from Stores to Manufacturing; processes Material Certifications; and makes internal deliveries.

20 %    Supports Shipping by building shipping crates, services Production requests, and other duties; will also issue tools and miscellaneous supplies from the Tool Crib.

5 %    Assists other departments in achieving company production goals.

Supportive Functions:

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

Must possess the following knowledge, skill and ability, plus be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, by using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • – Safely operate forklift, hoist and other moving equipment.
  • – Accurately input and extract data/information using basic computer/system skills.
  • – Possess valid California drivers’ license; and a clean driving record for the past five-years.
  • – Good math skills, in order to precisely measure, weigh and count materials to ensure correctness of Bills of Lading and inventory stocking levels; maybe required to use handheld calculator.
  • – Ability to learn and apply safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals and materials; plus ability to understand MSDS requirements and their safe application.

Qualification Standards:

Training: Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, or that would provide required knowledge, skill and ability to successfully perform the assigned job duties.

Experience:  Relevant 6 months Receiving experience, or equivalent; plus basic computer skills.

Certificates:  Ability to pass Nor-Cal Products’ Forklift Certification training and test.

Grooming: Position requires clean, hazard free clothing; plus good personal-hygiene standards.

Environment:  50% inside, open warehouse environment, and 50% outside-yard environment; where temperatures during the year can range from very cold (20s) in the winter, to very hot (110+) in the summer.

Safety:  Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.  Must wear safety glasses and/or hearing protection where required, and face-shield while building crates, and while using packaging foam.
