This position provides registration and customer service coverage in the Rehabilitation Center of Plumas District Hospital.  They assume the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of patient services.  Under supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager, the employee in this position is responsible for obtaining/updating patient demographic and insurance information, registration of Rehabilitation Center visits, insurance verification and coverage, initiating the authorization process, scanning protected information, collection of co-pays and notifying Patient Financial Counselors of any self-pay or under insured patients.   The employee will have continuous contact with patients, guests, general public, therapists, and hospital staff.

Additional Application:

Preferred Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: 2 or more years’ experience in a medical office setting. 1-3 years of customer service. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Provide excellent customer service, conflict resolution skills and problem solving Efficient time management skills and ability to work independently Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems, printer, scanner, fax, and multi-line phone systems Ability to work competently within Microsoft Word and Excel Medical terminology and some medical pathology
