Job Description

We are looking for a Shift Leader to oversee operations and workers during scheduled shifts. Shift Leader responsibilities include scheduling, managing cash, managing staff, resolving conflicts and checking equipment. Ultimately, you will ensure all aspects of your shift run smoothly and effectively. If you’re a leader committed to quality service and have experience in our industry, we’d like to meet you.


  • Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts
  • Primarily on duty during the dinner/closing shifts
  • Schedule employee shifts and assign duties
  • Manage time-off requests and handle last-minute absences
  • Train and coach new employees
  • Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to management
  • Consistently “walk the floor” so you can catch a little problem before it develops into a big problem.
  • Always: Stay calm, responding in a concerned and sympathetic manner
  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed
  • Address customer and employee complaints
  • Resolve conflicts between workers
  • Foster and maintain a positive work environment
  • Communicate with the management team on any and all situations keeping the team informed at all times to stay ahead of any further concerns or opportunities
  • Document and report any and all situations that may require further attention
  • Oversee beverage inventory and purchasing when no beverage managers is present


  • Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role
  • Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations
  • Commitment to excellent service
  • Working well within a team
  • Leadership skills and ability to make decisions fast
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude
  • Basic knowledge of computers and point of sale systems
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Collaborate with ownership on current food costs and make suggestions for menu adjustments
  • Accurately count inventory and assist with paperwork as requested
Able to work the evening/closing shift

Minimum Education and Experience

Minimum Months of Experience: 6
Education Required: High School
Driver's License Required: Yes

    About SeaQuake Brewing

    We opened our doors on July 4th, 2016. We started brewing beer as a fun hobby on a half barrel system and after a year decided to go into larger production. With a group of friends we got together and transformed the old brewery building into what it is today. We now brew on a 15 barrel system and our beers are distributed by Humboldt Distributors and Blach beverage throughout Northern California.We have a wide range of beers to go available in cans. Also we can do 32 oz crowlers or 64 ounce growlers of any of our beers on tap to go. We also offer our beer in sixtels and half barrel kegs to go. We operate a full service restaurant with a full range of appetizers, entrees, and desserts available. Make sure to ask our staff about our new beer offerings.
