Definition and Class Characteristics:

Under general supervision, to provide complex or specialized office support to various County departments; to provide lead direction and training to a small group of office assistants or related support staff; and to perform related work as required.

This is the advanced working level of the Office Assistant series. Positions in this class are distinguished from the Office Assistant II level by the higher level of independent judgment required, the lower level of supervision and review received on non-routine matters, and the broad knowledge and understanding of laws, rules, regulations and policies applicable to the department. Positions in this class may have lead responsibility over others.

Education and Experience Required

Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade, and two years of general clerical or office assistant experience at a level equivalent Nevada County’s classification of Office Assistant II.

Licenses and Certificates

Some positions may require possession of a valid California driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Typing at a net rate of 40 wpm.
