Instruction of beginner to advanced level skiing and snowboarding. The primary function of an instructor is to create a positive learning experience for the customer. This is accomplished by using the teaching guidelines described in the Ski Park Learning Center Manual and the American Teaching System. As an instructor you will be expected to handle different class sizes, demonstrate patience and make your classes a fun experience. Other duties include greeting guests; assisting sign ups, snow removal, and other duties as assigned. The instructor must work well under pressure and shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior towards co-workers, supervisors and guests. Other duties as assigned, may include working in other departments.

The elevation of Mt. Shasta Ski Park ranges from 5,500Ft. to 6,800 Ft. Winter conditions can be extreme with sub freezing temperatures, high winds, heavy snow and low visibility. The instructor is expected to work 6 to 8 hours a day in these conditions. Uniform items will be issued. The instructor must be able to ski or board for up to 8 hours a day. While teaching, you may be required to ski or board backwards, lift 40 pounds, twist, bend and pick up children and equipment.
