About the Employer

Located in the greater Redding area, the Mountain Valley Special Education JPA is a consortium of 13 small school districts and one charter school that was created to provide a broader continuum of services for students with disabilities.

Job Summary

We have full and part time work. Very flexible to work the amount of time that fits your life. Locations: Columbia, Junction, North Cow Creek, Cottonwood. STRS retirement participant; Health, Dental and Vision benefits for positions working 6 hrs/day or more. Bonus and benefits prorated for part time positions. Under the direction of the director or designee and the immediate supervision of the site principal, the Speech and Language Pathologist provides specialized instruction and services for students who have disorders of language and speech which includes hearing, voice, pragmatics/social communication, expressive/receptive language and fluency; performs language assessments; assists in developing the Individualized Educational Program for students with language and speech disorders; consults and collaborates with teachers and parents regarding strategies which enable access to and progress in the general education curriculum.

Licenses/Credentials/Experience:
Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential-Language, Speech & Hearing, or Clinical or Rehabilitative Services or equivalent
Must pass pre-employment physical examination and fingerprint clearance following an offer of employment.
Desired:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Education :
Master’s degree required

Comments and Other Information

Work sites available: Columbia Elementary, Junction Elementary, Happy Valley Elementary; Montgomery Creek Elementary
up to 8.0 hours/day; start and end times flexible, but must include student attendance hours.

First day of work is ASAP.

As a recruitment incentive, the Speech and Language Therapist shall be granted a sum of up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000). 1st half ($5000) to be paid in the first paycheck and 2nd half ($5,000) to be paid at the end of the 2nd school year providing the employee is in active paid status at the time of the final school year paycheck. Applicants hired without a full credential (Intern, permit, waiver, etc) shall become eligible the year following receipt of their credential. Bonus is prorated for less than 8 hrs/day. SLPs that hired through an agency are not eligible for the bonus.
